truly free, locally-grown, always organic, sometimes heirloom, student-raised fruit and vegetables

about us

Founded in the spring of 2011, Fort Hays State University's Victore Garden was the collaborative project of the Political Science 380 class, taught by Dr. Shala Mills, and Student Environmental Organization. Designed to provide students with experience and knowledge of small-scale food production, the garden is based on concepts of organic, sustainable, and cooperative agriculture.

With the help of the university Grounds Department, the garden was established beneath a few Kentucky Coffee Bean trees along Big Creek. It is located just east of the dyke behind the Memorial Union parking lot. Named after the university mascot, Victore E. Tiger, and in tribute to victory gardens, the garden is around 1,000 square feet.
